NewsletterThe purpose of this newsletter is to inform participants of the latest developments in the use of the trans-vivo DTH assay. We want to share ideas/concerns in order to promote communication among those with similar areas of research interest. We ask colleagues to contribute to the field by sharing experiences and observations about the trans-vivo DTH assay. The sharing of information will hopefully lead to better results and allow us to establish a reproducible test that could be used to detect regulation, toward the goal of developing a specific transplant tolerance assay. The First Workshop on the human delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) trans-vivo assay took place on February 3-5, 2003 in the laboratory of Dr. William Burlingham located in room H4/781 CSC of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Our laboratory hosted participants from Ohio State University (Jacob Jansen), University of Miami (Silvia Alvarez), and University of Leipzig (Tonja Rhein). The University of Wisconsin was represented by Daniel Rodriguez and Ewa Jankowska-Gan. The Second Workshop took place on February 19-21, 2007 at the same location. Dr. William Burlingham's laboratory hosted three participants: Stephanie Chapman from the University of Oxford, Astrid van Halteren from Leiden University Medical Center and David Fitzpatrick from the Biotech Clarity Consulting Company. For more information, contact Dr. William Burlingham at (608) 263-0119 or via e-mail at Burlingham@surgery.wisc.edu ; Fax: (608) 263-7652.
