Clinical Specialties
Dr. Lozonschi practices adult cardiac surgery and is certified by the American
Board of Surgery and by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. His interests include transcatheter heart valve therapies, robotic and minimally invasive cardiovascular operations including thoracoscopic treatment of atrial fibrillation, partial sternotomy valve operations and arterial beating heart revascularization. He also specializes in heart failure surgery including placement of mechanical heart assist devices and heart transplantation.
Research Interests
His experimental research focuses on endovascular surgery and transcatheter heart valve therapies. He also has an active basic science project to study angiogenesis in myocardial engineering and regeneration in the in-vivo models that he developed in Japan. Dr. Lozonschi has published surgical training models for experimental robotic closure of atrial septal defects.
