UW Health's Heart and Vascular Care program is frequently lauded as one of the nation's best. The UW Health program encompasses a nationally-recognized preventive cardiology program, as well as complete diagnostic facilities for all heart and vascular patients. Expert cardiac surgical care is available for patients whose medical condition requires a variety of heart surgeries or transplant. Cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons here perform more than 50 complex aortic surgeries each year, and UW Health has long been recognized as the premier medical center in the Midwest for the diagnosis, care and treatment of complex aortic disease.
UW Health is currently seeking a PA to join this program for providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients within the Cardiac ICU and OR. The duties include but are not limited to providing primary, secondary, and/or tertiary healthcare in the outpatient, inpatient or community setting, elicit medical history and perform physical exam, perform routine clinical procedures, first and second assist in surgery, write or execute standing orders at the direction of the supervising physician, make rounds to observe and record pertinent progress of patients, counsel patients and their families on preventive and pre and postoperative care. Requires graduation from an accredited PA Program, WI PA licensure, and NCCPA certification. Competitive compensation and benefit package offered.
