The candidate must have the credentials that meet the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health criteria for promotion or appointment on the CHS track.

Principal duties:

The Department of Surgery is seeking a Microsurgeon that will provide patient care in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Clinical duties include provision of care to plastic and reconstructive surgery patients at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics as well as the VA Hospital. The clinical practice will cover breast reconstruction, extremity reconstruction, hand surgery, in-patient support (pressure ulcers, wound repair) and reconstruction following cardiothoracic surgery (sternal wound infection, chest wall reconstruction).

Candidates should be academically oriented with an interest in either basic science or translational research and will be expected to initiate an independent research effort as well as collaborations with other established researchers on the UW campus. The successful applicant will have an active role in the training/education of medical students and surgery residents, and will give presentations at various hospitals and medical centers throughout the state.

The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service.
