Rank will depend on candidate’s interest and academic credentials. The successful candidate must have credentials that meet criteria for CHS appointment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and Swedish American Health System (SAHS) in Rockford, Illinois are seeking a cardiac surgeon. The selected candidate will be joining an active cardiac surgery practice at SAHS and the responsibility of the selected candidate will be to meet the clinical and academic needs of this program. The incumbent will be responsible for providing a full spectrum of cardiac surgery services including but not limited to outpatient and inpatient consultations and evaluations, elective surgical procedures, unscheduled and emergency surgical procedures. The selected candidate will also be responsible for the management of surgical patients transferred to SwedishAmerican Health System facilities or needing transfer from SwedishAmerican to other facilities for tertiary or quaternary care. The incumbent may also assist with translational research in general surgery. University and public service will be expected as appropriate.
