Principal duties:

The Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a board certified general surgeon to join its active general surgery practice at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, Illinois. The incumbent will be responsible for providing a full spectrum of general surgery services including, but not limited to, outpatient and inpatient consultations and evaluations, elective surgical procedures, unscheduled and emergency procedures, and endoscopy. The selected candidate will also be responsible for the management of patients transferred to SwedishAmerican Health System facilities or needing transfer to other facilities for tertiary or quaternary care. The successful candidate may participate in the education and training of medical students, general surgery residents, and fellows. The incumbent will also be an active teacher/mentor in the general surgery resident program.
