The Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is committed to collaborating with our regional colleagues to provide the highest quality of care to the people of Wisconsin and beyond.
To help in this effort, we invite you to join us as a Gloves-On Program participant where you will become part of the surgical team in the UW Hospital operating room for an all-day, interactive training session in advanced surgical procedures. For your training, you will be paired with a UW Health surgeon with extensive expertise and training in your area of interest.
Our goal is to provide you with a fulfilling training experience that will expose you to the cutting-edge technology, innovative techniques and broad range of resources available at UW Health to expand and enhance your surgical practice. Your path to the UW Hospital OR as a Gloves-On participant can occur in two ways—you may follow one of your referred patients into the OR, or you may let us know the particular procedure in which you are interested and let us find an appropriate case for you to experience.
