Clinic & Services Overview

The UW Center for Colorectal Surgery (UWCCS) was created in 1985 by Dr. Bruce A. Harms and Dr. James R. Starling and expanded to add Dr. Charles Heise in 2002. Their goal is to offer a unique multi-disciplinary approach to treating colorectal disorders. The cooperative effort between the University of Wisconsin Division of General Surgery and the Section of Gastroenterology provides our patients with a unique opportunity to address complex as well as straight forward colorectal problems. The center also conducts clinical and laboratory research, serves the medical and surgical needs of patients, and provides outreach to referring physicians across Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest.

Facilities

The UWCCS is located on the second floor of the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison and provides state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our facility allows complete in-house assessment and evaluation of our patients to ensure the highest standard of care.
