The Role of GSK3B in Carcinoid and Other Neuroendocrine Cancers

Funding:

The Doctors Cancer Foundation

Principal Investigator:

Herbert Chen, MD

Lab Website:

Dr. Chen's Lab

Project Summary:

Inhibition of glycogen synthase kinase-3-beta (GSK3B) in human carcinoid and neuroendocrine (NE) cancer cells markedly suppresses cellular growth and hormone secretion. In this proposal, we explore the potential to use GSK3B inhibitors for the treatment of patients with metastatic NE tumors.
