Greg Kennedy received an impact score of 20 (11%) for his NIH R01 titled “Role of Aryl Hydrocarbon in Colon Tumorogenesis.” Last session the funding line was 18% in National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. His requested budget was $250,000 direct costs per year for 5 years. This will be Dr. Kennedy’s first R01 and only the second active R01 held by a colorectal surgeon in the United States. Awesome accomplishment. Congratulations!

Laurie Johnson at Transformations recognized Sam Poore for the care he gave a patient who had scarring following a dog bite. The patient called and requested that Laurie relay to Dr. Poore her EXTREME gratitude for the treatment and care she received. The patient had been told by numerous doctors (including plastic surgeons) that nothing could be done. Dr. Poore started a series of kenalog injections and the patient was very happy with the results.
