Jonathan Kohler, MD, leads Project ECHO at UW Health, a telementoring project that connects regional providers with pediatric experts from Madison. This project was recently featured in the Wisconsin State Journal. Congratulations to Dr. Kohler for his work on this important outreach effort.
Congratulations to David Francis, MD, who was recently named both to the editorial board and as section editor of laryngology and endoscopy for JAMA Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery.
Daniel Abbott: Faculty – Oncology
• One of, if not the, best faculty members I worked with. Always took the time to interact with me as a student and give me opportunities. The anxiety of being in surgery or being questioned on a topic was minimal because Dr. Abbott always made the experience fun and engaging. The first time I ever made an incision was with Dr. Abbott! – definitely the first moment I considered surgery as a career.
Kathryn Leavitt: Resident – Otolaryngology
• An exceptional teacher and role model. She provided constructive feedback, maximized student learning, and gave guidance for day-to-day expectations and cases. Moreover, she was warm and welcoming to students and actively engaged students in learning.
Tiffany Zens: Resident – General Surgery
• She drew anatomy and went over the material with students before cases. Even when she was working on an understaffed service and increasingly stressed, she still managed to be kind/considerate and enthusiastic about teaching. She helped the students work on presentations, and she made sure that we had good learning opportunities in the OR setting.
Lee Wilke, MD, FACS (General)
“Dr. Wilke is a very caring and compassionate doctor and I am so blessed to have her. I am extremely pleased with her and the care I have received! She is the best!”
Aaron Wieland, MD (Otolaryngology)
“What I liked best about my visit was Dr. Wieland’s skill, efficiency, and promptness.”
