K. Craig Kent, MD, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery, was featured in Wednesday’s Wisconsin State Journal cover story. Dr. Kent, along with UW Health’s George Keeler, discussed the benefits to patient care and the many education opportunities now available at UW Health Clinical Simulation Program, one of only a handful of simulation centers in the country.

The 6,500-square-foot center, which had its grand opening Tuesday, lets nurses, medical students and even experienced surgeons practice their skills in an environment much safer than on real patients. “Surgeons could do a run-through on your anatomy the night before your procedure,” said Dr. Kent.
