Madison, Wisconsin – UW Health burn surgeon Lee D Faucher, MD recently appeared on NBC-15 News to discuss how you can prevent scalding burns, which can commonly occur at home.

Dr. Faucher treats anywhere from 50 to 75 children each year with scald burns, and sees even more with minor burns that can be treated without being admitted to the hospital. A scald burn, he says, is a burn caused by any liquid which could range from chicken soup, hot water, candle wax or grease.
