Carla Pugh, MD, PhD, professor of surgery and clinical director of the UW Health Clinical Simulation Program, recently spoke with WISC-TV News 3 about her efforts to incorporate simulation-based training into medical education programs. Her work with simulation programs for procedures such as breast exams and hernia operations can measure provider accuracy and effectiveness. Dr. Pugh hopes one day these simulation tests will be used in conjunction with traditional medical board testing and skills training.
