Robert Redfield III, MD
Robert Redfield, MD, assistant professor of surgery in the Division of Transplantation, was selected for the UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research Mentored Career Development Award KL2 Scholars Program. Dr. Redfield will receive $100,000 a year for up to four years for his project “Characterizing Novel Therapeutic Strategies for the Prevention and Reduction of Donor Specific Antibody in Kidney Transplantation.”
Alloantibody is a major obstacle for access to kidney transplantation and the main cause of kidney graft failure. Dr. Redfield and his research team are hopeful these studies will lead to better therapies for transplant patients.
