Seth Dailey, MD, associate professor of surgery, was corresponding author on a paper that looked at 116 patients undergoing in-office biopsy for suspected head and neck cancers. Dr. Dailey and his research team found time to treatment was cut in half — on average from 48 days to 24 days — when patients underwent in-office biopsy over OR biopsy.

“In-office biopsy of upper airway lesions: Safety, tolerance, and effect on time to treatment” appeared online ahead of print at The Laryngoscope on November 6, 2014. News coverage of the study appeared on on March 9, 2015. Copyright © 2016 The Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System
