UW General Surgery residents won two of the three resident research awards at the 2009 Wisconsin Surgical Society Conference in Kohler, WI this weekend.

David Greenblatt, MD (PG4) won best clinical research presentation for his research on “Preoperative factors predict perioperative outcomes after pancreaticoduodenectomy: results from the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program.”

Aaron Chalmers, MD (PG3) won best poster presentation for his research on “Laparoscopic versus open appendectomy: a comparison using the NSQIP database”.
