The Department of Surgery has teamed with the City of Madison Parks Division to offer two Walk with a Doc programs in October. On Oct. 13 at 6 p.m., James Maloney, MD, will lead a brief discussion about lung cancer and a walk around Warner Park. On October 18 at 9 a.m., Lee Wilke, MD, will offer her Breast Cancer 101 talk followed by a walk through Cherokee Marsh North Unit.

The Madison-area Walk with a Doc program is one of the most active chapters in the country. Each event typically includes a short, doctor-led presentation on a specific health topic followed by a Q&A session that takes place during a walk through a Madison park. In the winter months, the program offers more season-appropriate activities, such as skiing, ice skating or snowshoeing.

A full list of Madison-area Walk with a Doc events is available at the Madison Parks webpage.
