Gregory Banker, a third-year undergraduate student, who has been working with Dr. Bo Liu (Associate Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery), won the “Best Poster Award” in the cell signaling category at the 14th Annual Association of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Undergraduate Student Research Achievement Poster Competition. The meeting took place April 22-28, 2010 in Anaheim, California. This was a competitive category with only one award and four honorable mentions granted to 50 participating students.
Greg was also mentored by Department of Surgery faculty members Drs. Herb Chen (Vice-Chairman for Research), Greg Kennedy (Assistant Professor in the Division of General Surgery), Craig Kent (Department of Surgery Chairman), and Jon Matsumura (Chairman of the Division of Vascular Surgery).
