Madison, Wisconsin – The UW Carbone Cancer Center is among the 100 hospitals and health systems with great oncology programs as determined by Becker’s Hospital Review.
The University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics cancer program is run through the Carbone Cancer Center. The center, opened in 1973, includes a medical staff of more than 250 physicians and offers more than 250 clinical trials. It started conducting Phase I clinical trials in 1979 and was among only six centers in the country to receive funding from the National Cancer Institute to do so.
