Ariel Sherman is an Assistant Researcher in the Wisconsin Surgical Outcomes Research Program (WiSOR) in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Ariel earned her MPH degree from George Washington University, where she studied physical activity and epidemiology. She received training in qualitative and quantitative research methods, design of health studies, and data analysis.

Ariel is interested in working at the intersection of public health and medicine. Following her MPH program, she completed a research fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center focused on the implementation and measurement of shared decision making in a clinical setting. Her current research focuses on the development and testing of a patient reported outcome measure for patients suffering from vocal fold paralysis. Ariel has experience using Endnote, SAS, GIS, REDCap, and Qualtrics. Outside of work, Ariel enjoys traveling, checking out new restaurants, playing with dogs, and staying active with skiing and running.
