Senior Research Specialist
Kellie Bowen has been a Senior Research Specialist at the UW-Madison for 28 years. Of the 28 years, 25 of those were working on the central nervous system. 13 years were spent doing the surgeries for the MCAO (stroke) and TBI (traumatic brain injury) models. Due to the longevity of her employment at the UW-Madison, she has learned numerous methodologies and techniques that aid and train new students. Kellie utilizes her vast experience while working in the Connor lab to discover how age and treatment variables affect muscle phenotype(s) in thyroarytenoid and extrinsic tongue muscles.
