Graduate Research Assistant
Laura graduated from the University of Michigan in 2002 with a BS in Biopsychology. After graduation, Laura remained at the University of Michigan for three years and worked as a research assistant at the Kresge Hearing Research Institute, first in a Comparative Perception lab and then in an Auditory Physiology lab. Prior to pursuing a graduate degree, Laura worked in large-scale educational assessment as a scoring director. This position involved training large groups college-educated adults to score constructed responses from state standardized tests. She was specifically involved in a high school biology project. This experience prompted Laura to pursue a graduate degree. She is currently enrolled in the MS/PhD program in the Department of Communicative Disorders at the University of Wisconsin, and has completed her second year of graduate studies. Her academic goals are to become a speech and language pathologist and then, following this clinical training, remain in academia in pursuit of a PhD and eventually conduct research and teach at the university level.
