Ryan Schmocker, MD
General Surgery Resident
Dr. Ryan Schmocker is a research fellow in the Wisconsin Surgical Outcomes Research Group, with primary mentorship provided by Dr. Emily Winslow. During his two years of dedicated research time he is also pursing a master’s degree in Population Health Sciences from the University of Wisconsin, with a projected graduation date of Spring 2015.
He is currently investigating determinants of satisfaction in clinically significant subgroups and examining potential targets in care delivery that could provide more efficient delivery of care. To this end, his long-term research interests include examining comparative effectiveness of clinical interventions and determining areas for improvement in the efficiency of care delivery. Additionally, he has an interest in safe delivery of patient care and is a current member of several hospital-level patient safety committees.
