Suresh Agarwal, MD

Suresh Agarwal, MD is an Associate Professor in the Division of General Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania, he received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and pursued training in surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care in Connecticut and Wisconsin. After working as a trauma surgeon in Boston for nine years, he returned to Wisconsin to become the Chief of Trauma at the University of Wisconsin Hospital. His research interests include the impact of physiotherapy upon outcome in surgical patients, modification of opioid prescribing in trauma patients in order to limit opioid misuse, and outcomes in critically ill patients who have sustained trauma, require emergent surgery, or develop acute respiratory distress syndrome. He has been funded by the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovation Technology, and the Department of Defense.
