The University of Wisconsin Bariatric Surgery Program is a multidisciplinary group of dedicated experts committed to helping morbidly obese patients who have struggled with their weight and health conditions, using the latest surgical techniques. Currently, the most commonly performed bariatric procedures are laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery and the laparoscopic adjustable gastric band.

Obesity is a complex, progressive, life-threatening, genetically-related, costly disease with multiple obesity-related health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea and joint problems. Bariatric surgery can help obese people manage their serious health concerns. Procedures performed by experienced bariatric surgeons have very low complication rates. With a comprehensive bariatric team dedicated to the education and support process, results can be life-changing – and life-lasting. Our experienced and highly trained surgeons will work with the rest of the bariatric team to ensure that our patients get the kind of high quality care and long-lasting health benefits that they seek.
