The Department of Surgery’s Section of Trauma Surgery has a tradition of providing expert care for patients of all ages. With four full-time trauma surgeons and a specialized burn surgeon, our team is experienced in every facet of critical care.

Our section of trauma surgery cares for approximately 1500 trauma patients each year. At our Level One Trauma Center, we provide care from the time of injury through discharge and rehabilitation, with a varied team of specialists (including doctors, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, health psychologists, dieticians, pharmacists, social workers, respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, radiology specialists and psychiatrists) to coordinate care and ensure a patient’s full physical and psychological recovery.
