Laparoscopic Urology Program

UW CrestExcellence in minimally invasive urology, in particular laparoscopic urology, has been a hallmark of UW Urology since 1995. Laparoscopy is a form of minimally invasive surgery, where standard, open, “large” incision surgery is replaced with “keyhole” incision surgery.

The laparoscopic approach duplicates the open surgery, but shortens hospital stay, recovery, and decreases the overall pain a patient undergoes following the procedure.
