Archive: Alumni magazine features article on Dr. Arbuckle’s medical student mentorship role

Dr. Jacquelynn Arbuckle, clinical associate professor with the Department of Surgery, is one of five physicians currently serving as a mentor for residents in the UW School of Medicine and Public Health’s House Mentor Program. Each mentor is assigned to one “house” of 150 students and spends about 20 percent of his or her professional time mentoring.

Dr. Arbuckle’s story, along with those of the other mentors, is featured in the latest issue of Quarterly, the alumni magazine of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health (see page 32).

Other Department of Surgery mentions in the current issue of Quarterly include:

  • News of Dr. Lee Faucher receiving the 2013 UW Hospital and Clinics Presidential Physician Leadership Award (see page 18)
  • A write-up on Dr. Caprice Greenberg’s $1.97 million grant funding to study patient-centered approaches to follow-up care for breast cancer survivors (see page 30)
  • An announcement about Dr. Shahab A. Akhter’s appointment to chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, a role he started in September (see page 34)
