The Division of Vascular Surgery is pleased to announce that Dr. Dai Yamanouchi has joined the faculty. Dr. Yamanouchi has extensive training in surgery and vascular surgery. He is practicing at UWHC and Meriter Hospital, and will see patients at the West Clinic and 1 South Park.

Dr. Yamanouchi will also be conducting vascular biology research in aneurysm pathogenesis at WIMR. Prior to his faculty appointment, Dai worked in the vascular research laboratory. He has many distinguishing awards and extraordinary research publications.

Dr. Dai Yamanouchi, Clinical Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery, and Dr. Joseph Bobadilla, Fellow of the Division of Vascular Surgery, won the poster competition at the 2010 Vascular Annual Meeting, the annual meeting of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS). More than 100 posters were submitted and Drs. Yamanouchi and Bobadilla’s poster was selected amongst the top five. Congratulations!

The UW Division of Vascular Surgery recently hosted a dinner at the 2010 Vascular Annual Meeting in Boston. Several residents, nurses, and past vascular fellows, joined six faculty members in welcoming Visiting Professor Kimihiro Komori, Chairman of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Nagoya University in Japan. Several Division and Department leaders from prominent institutions, including Dr. Michael Makaroun and Dr. Gary Seabrook, attended the celebratory evening.
