Archive: Dr. Craig Kent Selected to Serve on Prestigious NIH Study Section

Dr. K. Craig Kent, A.R. Curreri Professor and Chairman of the Department of Surgery
has been appointed to the Surgery and Bioengineering Study Section,
Center for Scientific Review, National Heart Lung and Blood Institute
(NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health.

Members are selected on the basis of demonstrated competence and
achievement in their scientific discipline as evidenced by screed NIH
funding, the quality of research accomplishments, publication in
scientific journals, significant scientific contributions, and honors.

Study section members review grant application submitted to the NIH,
make recommendations on these applications to the appropriate NIH
advisory councils and are responsible for survey of the status of
pertinent scientific research. Dr. Kent’s appointment began in July of
2010.
