Archive: Dr. Greenberg discusses video-based surgical coaching in AAS interview

The Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) recently featured an interview with Dr. Caprice Greenberg on its blog, “The Academic Surgeon.” In the interview Dr. Greenberg discusses findings from her paper “Postgame analysis: Using video-based coaching for continuous professional development.” Her paper was based on the results of a pilot study performed within the UW Department of Surgery where surgeons offered “play-by-play” discussions during video-recorded operations. Dr. Greenberg and her co-authors analyzed the use of these videos as supplemental training resources for surgeons.

Dr. Greenberg is the director of the Wisconsin Surgical Outcomes Research Program (WiSOR), which works to improve the quality, safety, effectiveness and efficiency of surgical care through research and innovation at the University of Wisconsin.
