Archive: Dr. Kent discusses wound healing smartphone app on WKOW

Studies show up to 30% of surgical wounds become infected, with most infections developing two to three weeks after discharge. Dr. K. Craig Kent and a team of researchers at the University of Wisconsin Department of Surgery are developing a smartphone app that would allow patients to send photos of their surgical wounds to a health care team for monitoring, allowing doctors and nurses to recognize and treat surgical wound infections before they become severe. “Smart phone app would allow patients to send doctors photos” aired on WKOW Channel 27 on October 14, 2014.
