Archive: Dr. Roland Vega plays a key role in one patient’s story of survival

Roland J Vega, MD, Clinical Professor of Surgery, provided excellent medical care and compassion to a breast cancer patient, Connie, as she prepared for surgery.

Dr. Vega performed a stereo tactic biopsy and partial mastectomy on Connie but in addition to the surgery, Dr. Vega also provided her with much needed moral support.
“July 13 was my pre-surgery visit. At that time I was given Dr. Susan Love’s Breast Book. Dr. Vega told me it is the bible for women with breast cancer. He marked pertinent areas that would explain things a little further before my surgery. It was a wonderful book and helped relieve some of the fear.”
