Archive: Massachusetts trauma surgeon will lecture on lessons learned from the Boston Marathon bombing

The UW Department of Surgery’s Section of Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, Surgical ICU and Burn will host the 34th_Annual_Milton_Lunda_Lecture on May 6, 2014, welcoming George Velmahos, MD, as visiting professor and Milton Lunda Lecturer. Dr. Velmahos is a professor of surgery and Chief, Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Velmahos will present two lectures during the day-long event — “The Boston Marathon Bombing: Successes, Failures, and Lessons Learned” and “A Radically Different Approach to Trauma Resuscitation.” Lectures will be held in the Health Sciences Learning Center (HSLC) Room 1306, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
