Archive: Surgeons named to Newsweek’s Top Cancer Doctors list

Newsweek magazine recently named 15 physicians associated with the UW Carbone Cancer Center to its Top Cancer Doctors 2015 list. The list was compiled through peer nomination and in conjunction with Castle Connolly Medical LTD. Three surgeons from our department were included in this list:

  • Eugene Foley, MD, specializes in the treatment of diseases of the colon and rectum, including colon and rectal cancer, ulcerative colitis, Chron’s disease, and diverticulitis. Dr. Foley’s research interests focus on clinical trials designed to improve the surgical care of colorectal disease.
  • Gregory Hartig, MD, has extensive experience managing head and neck cancer, including tumors of the skull base, and conducts research in the cytogenetics of head and neck carcinoma.
  • Sharon Weber, MD, is a surgical oncologist focused on biliary and gastrointestinal cancers, with a special interest in minimally invasive approaches to cancer treatment. Dr. Weber conducts research in tumor evaluation, cancer patient outcomes and health care quality.

The list was published in Newsweek magazine’s recent Cancer 2015 issue.
