On April 24, UW Surgery will welcome Ben Mezrich, bestselling author and brother of UW Transplant Surgeon Joshua D Mezrich, MD, for a special Surgery Grand Rounds. In addition, UW Radiology will host the brother’s father, Dr. Reuben Mezrich, professor and former chair of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology & Nuclear Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, for Radiology Grand Rounds the following day.
Dr. Josh Mezrich has been faculty at UW Surgery, along with his wife and Vascular Surgeon Margaret L Schwarze, MD, for the last 8 years. This tie is what draws both brother and father for a spcecial visit to the UW next week.
Ben will sign books from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, and then at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, he’ll present a special Surgery Grand Rounds titled “From Bringing Down the House to the Social Network: Sometimes Truth Really is Stranger Than Fiction” in the Health Sciences Learning Center Room 1335. Though not your ordinary Surgery Grand Rounds, we’re betting the house that Ben will have our full attention as he chats about his best-selling books and what it was like to meet Mark Zuckerberg; the man behind Facebook.
