Archive: UW launches $15 million head and neck cancer research program

The UW Carbone Cancer Center received a five-year, $12 million Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) grant from the National Cancer Institute to improve treatments and outcomes for head and neck cancer patients. The UW will contribute an additional $3 million in matching funds to support collaborative efforts between scientists and clinicians.

Paul Harari, MD, Department of Human Oncology, is the Principal Investigator. Timothy McCulloch, MD, and Greg Hartig, MD, both from our Division of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, will lead two of the four main projects supported through the award.
