UW Health held the 2016 Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Recognition Event on November 15 at the Monona Terrace to celebrate the critical role APPs provide in patient care — 63 APPs independently provide expert, hands-on, and compassionate care in clinics, inpatient units, and the operating room for the Department of Surgery. Several providers from the Department were nominated for APP Excellence Awards: Christopher Goodavish, PA (CT surgery) — Excellence in Teaching; Sarah Smith, MS, NP (general surgery at TAC) — Excellence in Clinical Practice; and Marylou Hagen, PA (Department Lead APP and plastic surgery) and Mary Beth Henry, NP (hepatobiliary surgery) — Excellence in Leadership. Congratulations to all our outstanding APPs and thank you for providing excellent patient care.
