At the Top

Our Pediatric Cardiothoracic team, under the direction of Petros Anagnostopoulos, MD, recently experienced an above average streak of major cases. In the span of a week the team performed two arterial switches with VSD repair, a Yasui operation, a difficult tetralogy in a diaphragmatic hernia patient who is trach and vent dependent, and a Norwood operation in a patient who had an ascending aorta measuring 1.5 mm. Thank you to everyone who put in the effort to provide exceptional patient care. Special recognition is due to Dr. Anagnostopoulos. Since joining us in 2011 he has greatly expanded our Peds CT program and established a high level of excellence and reputation with our patients, their families and referring providers.

New Faculty

Please help me in welcoming Jonathan Kohler, MD, MA, to the Division of Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Kohler earned his MD at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, completed his general surgery residency at the University of Washington, and recently finished a fellowship in pediatric surgery at the University of Chicago. During his residency years Dr. Kohler completed an MA in Health Communications at Emerson College and a post-doc research fellowship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. In addition to his academic medicine career, Dr. Kohler is an active writer, producer, actor and medical advisor in film, television and theater. In 2007 he founded RxCreative, a consulting firm that helps scientists, physicians and writers develop compelling stories about science and medicine.

Gregory Kennedy, MD, PhD, was appointed to the Wisconsin Partnership Program’s Partnership Education and Research Committee (PERC), which allocates and distributes funds designated for education and research initiatives that improve the health of Wisconsin residents.
