About the Course

The breadth and depth of procedures dealing with the larynx have become significantly more complex over the last 10 to 15 years, making it difficult for practicing otolaryngologists to understand, much less incorporate, these procedures into their practices. Furthermore, any newly acquired surgical skill set is best explored in a zero-risk environment such as cadaveric- and model-based courses. There is a significant absence of such courses available in the United States and we, at the University of Wisconsin, hope to pioneer this initiative to fill the need. Our team has held this type of course for residents and practicing otolaryngologists for the last eight years to great acclaim.

The unique format of this course will lend itself to small group, hands-on training with intimate feedback from world class faculty. This course will cover a myriad of laryngeal procedures.

New in the past year, we have begun offering “master classes” which cover one procedure over the course of 1.5 hours. Numbers are limited, which allows participants to learn and practice one-on-one with master faculty members. All participants will receive the Laryngeal Dissection and Surgery Guide, edited by the course director, Dr. Seth H. Dailey, to complement the procedures covered throughout the course.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed to train practicing otolaryngologists, speech language pathologists, and affiliated specialties in laryngeal procedures, dissection and surgical techniques through small group and hands-on training.
