James W. McCullough, MD

General Surgery Resident

Dr. McCullough was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, but moved to Aurora, Colorado, when he was four years old so he considers himself a Colorado boy. He loved the sciences growing up and fulfilled a childhood dream of becoming a CU Buffalo and studying molecular biology in Boulder. During college and afterward, he was a competitive skateboarder and snowboarder and has snowboarded on four continents. Dr. McCullough decided to pursue a career in surgery because his family suffers from ulcerative colitis and many of his friends and relatives have had their lives improved through the efforts of colorectal surgeons.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, biking, climbing, and fishing.
