Jay Nathwani, MD
General Surgery Resident
Dr. Jay N. Nathwani is a research resident of UW-Madison. Jay has completed his second clinical year and is now a T32 Research Fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Carla Pugh. Jay will work on several research projects that center around Surgical Education.
Jay is originally from Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He went to Loyola University Chicago where he obtained a BS in Biochemistry and BA in Music and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He matriculated to The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in 2013 with honors. Jay is expected to finish his general surgery residency in 2020.
Outside of residency Jay has a wide variety of interests, including hockey, racquetball, cooking, and playing the guitar. His favorite activities in Madison include going to the Memorial Union Terrace, attending the Farmer’s Market, and enjoying many of the outdoor activities available in the city.
