Jay Nathwani, MD

General Surgery Resident

Dr. Jay N. Nathwani is a fourth year clinical resident at UW-Madison. Jay completed a T32 Research Fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Carla Pugh, with research projects centering around Surgical Education.

Jay is originally from Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He went to Loyola University Chicago where he obtained a BS in Biochemistry and BA in Music and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He matriculated to The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in 2013 with honors. Jay is expected to finish his general surgery residency in 2020.

Outside of residency Jay has a wide variety of interests, including hockey, racquetball, cooking, and playing the guitar. His favorite activities in Madison include going to the Memorial Union Terrace, attending the Farmer’s Market, and enjoying many of the outdoor activities available in the city.
