Rose Maisner, MD

Plastic Surgery Resident

Rose was raised in Bay Head, New Jersey, and Manhattan, New York. As part of a Seven Year BS/MD Program, she received her undergraduate degree in biology with a minor in mathematics from The College of New Jersey and her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. After seeing a penile inversion vaginoplasty for the first time, she was inspired by the marked impact that gender affirming surgery and plastic surgery can have on a patient’s quality of life. In addition, Rose was drawn to the field’s emphasis on innovation and opportunity to treat diverse patient populations.

She is preparing for a career in academia dedicated to mentoring and training the next generation of plastic surgeons. Her research interests include education, social media use, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, in plastic surgery. Outside of the OR, Rose enjoys doing jigsaw puzzles, learning languages, eating delicious foods, and teaching herself the newest K-Pop dances.
