Laboratory research in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery includes the use of computer modeling to investigate the mechanisms of valvular heart disease progression; lung cancer immunotherapy; and long-term assist for pulmonary and cardiac problems. Transplantation investigations include heart and lung preservation studies and novel approaches to detect lung transplant rejection.
