Visiting medical student electives/extern-ships for senior medical students interested in Vascular Surgery Residency training are encouraged, and generally occur between June and January of the senior year. These rotations last two-four weeks, and are competitively approved and arranged directly with Dr. Courtney Morgan.
Interested students should submit:
- A letter of interest directly to Dr. Morgan by email (morganc@surgery.wisc.edu) and UMESurgEd@surgery.wisc.edu.
- A current CV
Medical students who are underrepresented in surgery and interested in pursuing a career in Peripheral Vascular Surgery are encouraged to apply for the Underrepresented in Medicine (URiM) Visiting Elective Scholarship. Applications received before May 1 are given priority.
Following approval from the Division of Vascular Surgery, the applicant will need to visit the UWSMPH Medical Student Electives website and complete in its entirety the process outlined. Upon completion of these criteria you will be allowed to formally apply and be approved to visit the School of Medicine and Public Health and Department of Surgery. (Until this process is complete, the elective as approved first by Dr. Morgan cannot be confirmed and “official”.)
We look forward to meeting and working with you.
