One of the goals of the Research Summit is to increase awareness of the exciting and diverse research that is being conducted and to encourage interaction among members of the department.
You must submit an abstract to be eligible for a poster presentation. The top 9 abstracts (as judged by the Abstract Reviewers) will be given an option for oral presentation during the Research Summit.
Abstracts not chosen for an oral presentation will be considered for a poster presentation. Based on reviewers’ scores, abstracts will be selected for either a judged poster (presenter required) or a non-judged poster (presenter optional).
Poster presentation confirmation deadline: December 14, 2026
During the Research Summit, assigned judges will vote on the best submissions. Posters will be evaluated on the following categories: hypothesis, methods, results, conclusions, and overall poster board layout/display. The winners will receive a monetary award.
Please note that the abstract submitter or a listed author must be present to receive an award. There will be no exceptions. If the abstract submitter or a listed author are not present, no award will be given.
Poster Specifications
- Suggested poster size is 3ft high x 4ft wide
- Poster display boards at HSLC are 4ft high x 8ft wide
There will be two posters per board, per side, so maximum allowed space is 4ft x 4ft - An optional 3ft x 4ft Surgery poster template is available >>
The above PPT poster template is set up at 50% so be sure to print at 200% to achieve the desired 3ft h x 4ft w size
