Interested Undergraduates are Invited to Apply
The Odorico Research Lab in the Wisconsin Institute for Medical Research accepts enthusiastic, organized and motivated undergraduate laboratory assistants into the lab with a desire to help advance progress in our exciting research programs! Under the leadership and mentorship of Dr. Sackett, Principal Scientist, the student would perform general laboratory duties, including (but not limited to): Mouse tissue genotyping, RNA extraction, QPCR, inventory/ordering, dishes/autoclaving, and making solutions. Tissue culture training is possible once lab practice is established. Genotyping involves learning and mastering a multitude of useful research laboratory skills, including micropipetting, polymerase chain reaction DNA amplification, agarose gel electrophoresis, restriction digestion, data analysis and spreadsheet management, among others, making this position a useful steppingstone to a more research-intensive position in this lab or others. Previous laboratory experience is not required, but will be considered. Strong organizational skills are a must.
