Lab Student Recognized at 2025 Chancellor’s Undergraduate Award Ceremony

Brooke Miller at the Chancellor’s Undergraduate Awards Ceremony

UW–Madison hosted the annual Chancellor’s Undergraduate Award Ceremony on April 28. This ceremony serves as an opportunity to celebrate the extraordinarily talented undergraduates for their academic excellence, public service, and undergraduate research. Brooke Miller, an undergraduate student majoring in Biology, was recognized for the work she is doing with Dr. David Al-Adra, Assistant Professor in the Division of Transplantation.

Miller received the Wisconsin Hilldale Undergraduate/Faculty Research Fellowship. Supported by the Provost’s Office and the Hilldale Fund, this award will provide $4,000 in funding for her research project over the next year as well as $1,000 for Dr. Al-Adra to help offset research costs. Miller’s project involves using small molecule activators of a protein called SIRT-6 to try and decrease inflammation in the liver during normothermic liver perfusion.
