Dr. Carrie Thiessen Receives ASTS Health Policy Fellowship

Dr. Carrie Thiessen, assistant professor in the Division of Transplantation, was recently named a recipient of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) Health Policy Fellowship.

During this fellowship, Dr. Thiessen will develop essential skills, conduct impactful research, gain leadership experience and expand her professional network. In turn, she will advocate for and develop transplant related health policy expertise for the ASTS and the transplant community. Dr. Thiessen will work with Dr. Elizabeth Sonnenberg, the other ASTS Health Policy Fellow, to collaborate with the ASTS Legislative & Regulatory Committee to address critical knowledge gaps in transplant research and policy, culminating in a study on organ non-use.
